Above the arrow head embroidered on a black tab, in yellow lettering, is the word “AIRBORNE". The blue arrowhead represents the scouting skills of American Indians. Special Forces are trained to a high degree in American Indian stealth and field craft techniques. The yellow dagger represents the unique and conventional nature of the Special Forces missions. The three lightning bolts represents the Green Berets' ability to strike by air, land and water. The Airborne tab signifies that a soldier has been through airborne school and possesses the necessary airborne qualifications.
