Jacksonville City Flags
The Jacksonville City flag represents “The River City” with vivid, bright colors and beautiful imagery. The Jacksonville flag design showcases a silhouette of the city’s namesake Andre Jackson mounted on horseback with the rays of a sunburst at his back. The lower panel features a silhouette of Duval County and the words, “City of Jacksonville, Florida” in a concave arc. The bright colors of orange, gold, brown and white symbolize Jacksonville’s bright future and the sunshine found in the state of Florida. The Jacksonville flag was designed by Don Bozeman, winner of a design contest held by the city of Jacksonville. It was adopted in 1976.
