Why Buy a 29-Star American Flag?
On December 28, 1846, Iowa was admitted to the Union; on July 4 of the following year, the 29-star American Flag became the country’s official flag. This flag was only in use for roughly a year, and the only President to serve under the 29-star American flag was James J. Polk.
While this historic flag may not have been the official U.S. flag for long, no collection of historical American flags would be complete without it. Carrot-Top’s 3’ x 5’ 29-star American Flag is an accurate reproduction of this 19th century flag. It’s fashioned from heavyweight 200 denier nylon with sewn stripes and applique stars. Four rows of stitching at the fly end help resist fraying, and brass grommets make display easy.
