The Bulgaria flag consists of three equally sized horizontal stripes. They are colored white, green and red and placed in that order, from top to bottom. The Bulgarian flag’s design is based on the Russian flag. Russia stood as an ideal for Slavic states at the start of the 19th Century as it was the only Slavic state to have gained independence from Turkish and Austria-Hungarian rule. The blue stripe that appears in the Russian flag was replaced by a green stripe on the new Bulgarian design. The green stripe is said to be a symbol of the nation’s natural beauty and riches as well as a symbol for freedom. This flag design was first used to represent a revolutionary party. It was adopted as the national flag of Bulgaria in 1879 with the drafting of the first Bulgarian constitution.
Our outdoor Bulgaria flags are built for dry and wet weather use in areas with low to moderate wind speeds. The outdoor flags come with an attached header and grommets. These features allow the flag to be flown on any of our commercial flagpoles or our outdoor flagpoles for home use. The indoor flags are ideal for official displays. These flags have a gold fringe and can be combined with any one of our parade and indoor flagpoles. The mini 4”x6” flags can be coupled with our mini flag stands.
