The San Antonio City flag honors the spirit of Texas and the state’s struggle for independence during the Texas Revolution. The San Antonio flag features the Alamo superimposed onto a white five-pointed star. The star shines on a field half blue and half crimson. The blue signifies loyalty while the red symbolizes the “the blood that courses through the veins of every loyal Texan.” The white star at the center of the San Antonia flag signifies the state of Texas. The defeat at San Antonio’s Alamo marked a turning point which inspired Texans to ultimately defeat the Mexican Army and gain their independence. The flag was designed by William Herring in 1935. Details

San Antonio is located in the south-central Texas or the southwestern corner of the region known as the Texas Triangle. (This Texas triangle also includes the cities of Dallas, Austin and Houston.) San Antonio is the seventh most populated city in the U.S. and the second most populated in Texas. The city is named for Saint Anthony of Padua whose birthday, June 13, fell on the same day that a group of Spanish explorers and missionaries came upon what would later be called the San Antonio River and a nearby settlement of the Payaya people. San Antonio City flags are available in five sizes ranging from 2’x3’ to 6’x10’. San Antonio flags are constructed with durable yet lightweight nylon, vibrant colors and reinforced stitching.
