The Air Force wings patch has two main parts. The upper half of the patch features two wings set at a 45 degree angle against each other. These wings are made up of six shaped stripes representing the Air Force’s strength and the men and women who serve it. The six stripes also represent the capabilities of the Air Force, air and space superiority, global attack, rapid global mobility, precision engagement, information superiority, and agile combat support. The lower part of the Air Force wings patch is made up of a star, sphere and three diamonds. The sphere represents the globe, a symbol of the Air Forces duty to show global vigilance, reach and power. The five-pointed star represents soldier in active duty, civilians, Guard, Reserve and retirees. The diamonds represent the Air Force’s core values; integrity first, service before self and excellence in all tasks performed.
