Northern Ireland Flags
Taken from a heraldic banner that depicts the former coat of arms of Northern Ireland, the Northern Ireland Flag, also known as the Ulster Banner, consists of a red cross on a white field. At the center of the cross is a crowned six-pointed star with a red hand in the center. The Ulster Banner was considered the flag of Northern Ireland from 1953 to 1973, when the Northern Ireland government was officially abolished. Since 2000, the Union Jack has been the officially-recognized flag of Northern Ireland.
