Scotland Flags

IN THIS SECTION:  ST. ANDREWS CROSS  |  LION RAMPANT

Scotland’s rich and storied history is recognized by its two flags, the St Andrews flag and the Lion Rampant of Scotland. Outdoor flags are constructed with lightweight-yet-tough nylon that resists the sun’s UV rays for a fade-free finish. Indoor flags are available in a classic pole hem and golden fringe design for a distinguished indoor or parade display. Miniature versions are 4” x 6” and mounted on a black plastic staff.

Scotland’s official flag is the St Andrew’s Cross or Saltire, a bold white X on a blue background.  It relates to the iconography of Saint Andrew, patron saint of Scotland; according to legend, Saint Andrew was crucified on an X-shaped cross.

The Lion Rampant of Scotland officially serves as the Royal Banner of the Royal Arms of Scotland. Lion Rampant designs date back to 1222, when it was devised as the shield of the royal coat of arms of the ancient Kingdom of Scotland. It is officially limited to royal residences, yet is one of the country’s most recognizable symbols.

Carrot-Top offers the St Andrew’s Cross in 2’ x 3’, 3’ x 5’, 4’ x 6’ and miniature 4” x 6” sizes, including an indoor 3’ x 5’ with lavish gold fringe. The Lion Rampant of Scotland is available in miniature 4” x 6” size, 12” x 18”, 2’ x 3’, 3’ x 5’, 4’ x 6’ and indoor 3’ x 5’. All are constructed from tough but lightweight nylon for years of service.
