The Mauritius flag is made up or four equally sized horizontal lines. The stripes are colored red, blue, yellow and green and appear in that order from top to bottom. The red stripe, like in most African flags, represents the bloodshed in the conflict that eventually led to independence. The blue stripe represents the Indian Ocean and is a reflection on its Mauritius’ geographical location. The yellow represents the nation’s bright future and the sunshine. Finally, the green stripe is a symbol for all of the nation’s natural beauty and vegetation. The Mauritius flag was designed in anticipation of gaining independence and was flown for the first time on March 12, 1968 after the proclamation of independence.

Our Mauritius flags are built for indoor, outdoor and mini flag displays. The outdoor flags are fitted with a strong header on the hoist end of the flag with two brass grommets. These flags can be flown on any of our outdoor commercial flag poles or our residential flag poles. The indoor flag is ideal for official displays. These flags come with a gold fringe and pole sleeve to accommodate an indoor or parade flag pole. The mini flags are ideal for use as table décor or desk ornaments when coupled with our mini flag accessories.
