The flag of Brazil is commonly known as the ‘Auriverde’ which translates in to ‘Gold and Green’. The flag replaced the flag of the Empire of Brazil yet kept some of its main features and colors. Our Brazil flags can be used in both indoor and all-weather displays. The flags are built for long term displays. For more about each flag type click on an image below or scroll to the bottom.
The Brazil flag has a light green background with a yellow diamond placed in the center of it. Inside the diamond is a dark blue circle with 27 white, five-pointed stars appearing in varying sizes, resembling a starry night sky. A white banner runs diagonally across the circle with the words “ORDEM E PROGRESSO”, “Order and progress” when translated it means “Order and Progress”. The green background and the yellow diamond or rhombus were elements retained from the flag that was used prior to the current Brazil flag. The circle with the stars was added in place of the Brazilian empire’s coat of arms. Each of the stars on the flag represents a state of Brazil. The colors green and gold represent the House of Braganza of Pedro I, the first Emperor of Brazil and that of his wife, respectively. The current design for the Brazilian national flag was adopted in 1992.
